Racism???

Hear me out before you being throwing fits when I talk about this. But hasn't anyone thought that racism is just an example of deductive reasoning taken to an extreme? Yes it does take things a bit too far but sometimes as a song I like to listen to states, racism is based on facts and observations. Whilst the validity of these facts and observations are questionable they are what one group perceives of another.

Hence, the key to eliminating racism resides in changing ones perception of other races and other races perception of oneself. So the main thing is that people have to be more open when looking at others as well as work to change any negative images that they themselves might have.

Thoughts for today

Well first off I making a promise to everyone that I will stop having such a boring blog and start putting more pictures up.Tomorrow... or I hope tomorrow I can start my painting projects for my Warhammer 40,000 models. That was one of the reasons I started this blog, not to show of my awesome, read mediocre, painting skills but rather to force myself to actually finish the pile of men I have and I do literally mean pile.

Figure 1: Pile of semi painted models

Well apart from from the infantry I still have armoured vehicles in various stages of completion. God I think I have ADD when it comes to painting. Then again I have add when it comes to everything I do in my life.

Figure 2: TANKS!

Ok enough with the geekiness and on with the thoughts for today!

My first thought was of how seeing a familiar face in an unfamiliar place is one of the most unique and special experiences one will experience in their lifetimes. Having experienced this from both sides and also having watched people I have only realised now that this is indeed a very... indescribable experience.

Imagine yourself in a new place, maybe new campus, office, or a different country all together, the loneliness and the sense of not having your own place or niche as it may be is overwhelming. Then as fate would have it you make your first friend or acquaintance. From there you fulfill your primal need to have company. From then on whenever you go to this new foreign place you will always look for this individual, they become your anchor and they help make it a lot more bearable to live.

The magic lies not just in the forming of this relationship, but also in how once you have made this friend when you don't see them you feel the crushing sense of despair but the minute you see that all changes and the clouds seem to part. Now watching someone go through this you can almost see the changes. When they are alone they seem lost, meek, and sad in a way, once they see their friend they seem almost like a completely different person filled with energy and liveliness.

It must be truly ingrained into our human psyche to want the company of others or simply that we seek familiarity. Just read Ernest Hemingway's "A Clean Well-Light Place" and you will see what I mean. So as a lesson to all you readers when you see someone lost like that be the person that helps them through it, they will always be grateful for it.

Well thats all for today, and I guess this is a blessing considering I put more effort into this than what I put into my work today. XD I guess work will always lose out

PS

My desktop got fried again and I was just about to play Team Fortress 2! DAMN!

What the hell do you write on a blog?

Ok lets try to do this again. As the title suggests what the hell do you write on a personal blog? Well when I started this blog I had the idea of being so creative and original by posting about my work, play and my thoughts... hahaha original eh?

Well I guess if you can spin it the write way work can be play. Like yesterday I went to interview some of the PhD engineering students and got to play with some of their motion sensing equipment.. That was fun. If anyone is ever bored i recommend trying to balance on a BUSO ball with your eyes closed and squatting. For those that don't know what a BUSO ball is look below.

Looks innocent enough eh? But don't appearances fool you the amount of imbalance this causes especially when your eyes are closed and your are trying to squat on it causes your legs to like spasm just trying to correct your balance.

Regardless that was fun. >< Maybe if i feel like it I will post some videos of that experience.

Well apart from that the other thing that I had planned on putting on this blog would be my work in progress for my Warhammer 40,000 miniatures and what not. That would probably give me an incentive to actually finish painting those guys...

The last thing was the thoughts component. My mom was the one who actually convinced me to start this blog since well she said that I should continue writing lest I lose my eloquence. Hmm that is pretty true it took me a while to remember the word eloquence. All those lab reports are really dumbing me down.

Well here is hopes that I will come up with more creative content!

Kung Fu Cyborg Kittens

The original title of this post was going to be Blog Warming... but then I thought, "Wait a minute, isn't this what innumerable denizens of the internet has done before me?" so the title Kung Fu Cyborg Kittens became the title.

Too lazy to perform any of my higher cognitive functions right now... between the amount of work I have been working and the amount of games I have been playing that is no surprise.

And that is all for today hahaha
